Headcanon that while merlin had forgotten a lot of their past, there will be sometime someday a moment where they pulled out a skill so impressive even they goes "????"
Like, origami fold thing, merlin just did that one day cuz he was bored and he's like "... Wait a minute, I don't remember I learn how to do this...." and it was a very cute and impressive origami of the hamsters familiar. Merlin cannot fold any other origami beside that one.
The muscle memory of doing things, like for example sewing, "I don't remember you sew magister?" valen one day say, "I don't either," merlin replied, almost done patching up the knight cape
Or when they picked up a pencil or brush and start mindlessly doodling, nothing in mind, almost auto pilot, and they accidentally drew a portrait of mirael, makes you wonder if that ever happen before
Anyways—

you know i actually wouldn't be surprised if the clans went to a new territory in changing skies cause of the twolegs especially since 2/3 of the main characters are KNOWN to have moved territories before (tawny forest -> lake, leaf gorge -> lake)

i believe in super tall red supremacy im sorry! … like i’m talking 6’4 … blue is like 5’9 MAYBE 5’10 depending how much gel he puts in his hair and leaf is 5’7-8. ANYONE that tries to tell me blue is taller than red is spreading straight up propaganda - obviously being fuelled and pushed by blue himself lol

There’s something weird I never noticed before. So in ASOS, Stannis tells Davos that he saw the upcoming battle against the Others in one of Melisandre’s fires.
The ashes were white, rising in the updraft, yet all at once it seemed as if they were falling. Snow, I thought. Then the sparks in the air seemed to circle, to become a ring of torches, and I was looking through the fire down on some high hill in a forest. The cinders had become men in black behind the torches, and there were shapes moving through the snow. For all the heat of the fire, I felt a cold so terrible I shivered, and when I did the sight was gone, the fire but a fire once again. But what I saw was real, I’d stake my kingdom on it.
- Davos IV, ASOS
The “men in black behind torches” seems to suggest Night’s Watchment who are in the process of confronting the Others (“shapes moving through the snow”). I think it’s quite interesting that there is a sort of Azor Ahai imagery with these men, as they hold burning torches.
But then as I was reading this passage, I was suddenly reminded of one of Patchface’s jingles.
“Under the sea, it snows up,” said the fool, “and the rain is dry as bone. I know, I know, oh, oh, oh.”
- Prologue, ACOK
And I got to thinking, it seems that Patchface and Stannis are seeing the same thing (snow “falling” upward). Stannis also sees snow falling downwards, which kind of evokes a cycle. We don’t really know exactly what Patchface saw since the entire section contains several broken up and vague “prophecies”.
But regarding what we do know, my initial assumption was that Patchface’s jingle was essentially about death and the rising of wights. But then I also considered that he could also be referring to Jon Snow who seemingly dies at the end of ADWD and might be resurrected in TWOW.
They found Her Grace sewing by the fire, whilst her fool danced about to music only he could hear, the cowbells on his antlers clanging. “The crow, the crow,” Patchface cried when he saw Jon. “Under the sea the crows are white as snow, I know, I know, oh, oh, oh.” Princess Shireen was curled up in a window seat, her hood drawn up to hide the worst of the greyscale that had disfigured her face.
- Jon XI, ADWD
P.S: Coincidentally, Jon would (more generally) be among the men in black presented in Stannis’ vision since he is a member of the Night’s Watch; these men are also referred to as crows.
And speaking of Jon, we know that Melisandre has received visions of Jon’s death and possible rebirth.
The flames crackled softly, and in their crackling she heard the whispered name Jon Snow. His long face floated before her, limned in tongues of red and orange, appearing and disappearing again, a shadow half-seen behind a fluttering curtain. Now he was a man, now a wolf, now a man again. But the skulls were here as well, the skulls were all around him. Melisandre had seen his danger before, had tried to warn the boy of it. Enemies all around him, daggers in the dark. He would not listen.
[…]
“What do you see, my lady?” the boy asked, softly. Skulls. A thousand skulls, and the bastard boy again. Jon Snow.
[…]
Yet now she could not even seem to find her king. I pray for a glimpse of Azor Ahai, and R’hllor shows me only Snow.
- Melisandre I, ADWD
So Mel is seeing Jon in danger, but the “now he was a man, now a wolf, now a man again” seems to suggest that he will return. She has tried to rely this information to Jon and we get a rather funny exchange, where Jon assumes that the “snow” Mel is talking about is frozen rain.
“And what of Mance? Is he lost as well? What do your fires show?”
“The same, I fear. Only snow.”
Snow. It was snowing heavily to the south, Jon knew. Only two days’ ride from here, the kingsroad was said to be impassable. Melisandre knows that too. And to the east, a savage storm was raging on the Bay of Seals. At last report, the ragtag fleet they had assembled to rescue the free folk from Hardhome still huddled at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, confined to port by the rough seas. “You are seeing cinders dancing in the updraft.”
- Jon X, ADWD
Note: I searched “updraft” and got this definition: “an upward current of air.”
Jon thinks Mel is talking about the very literal snow moving upward(?) in the air, but she says,
“I am seeing skulls. And you. I see your face every time I look into the flames. The danger that I warned you of grows very close now.”
Not snow, but Snow.
And just a final (random) thought to wrap this all up,
“One bird croaking my name was bad enough,” said Jon, “and snow’s nothing a black brother wants to hear about.” Snow often meant death in the north.
- Jon II, ACOK

Wes lashed out at everyone who tried to help him.
He always put the blame solely on himself for everything he did. He never said no when he stole Pokemon to be sold to Cipher, when he shed blood in the Deep Colosseum at Gonzap's command, when he got on his knees to carry out the job or for the good of Team Snagem. He never said no when Rui asked for his help, when he went along with her plan to rescue the Shadow Pokemon he helped create, when he destroyed Cipher and destabilized the entire region of Orre. The one act of agency he could claim as his own wasn't for himself but for Espeon and Umbreon: if Cipher wanted to turn his best friends into Shadow Pokemon, they'd have to go over his dead body.
Wes told himself that he'd dug his grave, he was the one who'd have to climb out of it.
So when people offered to help him, he didn't see them as genuinely wanting to help. They were patronizing him, mocking him, blaming him for the hole he'd dug for himself. "Why haven't you said no?" "Why are you still hurt?" "Why did you do this to yourself?" "Poor thing, it's your fault." Wes projected his own self loathing onto everyone else.
What he couldn't recognize, what those trying to help him did recognize, was that his ability to say no had been stolen from him. He was a victim of Team Snagem, of Orre as a region, and they wanted to help because they cared about him.
So he declined Rui's offer to go with her to Unova, to meet her family. He lashed out at Duking when he offered a room in his house for Wes to stay in. He snarled at Sherles when he offered Wes a job as an officer. He got angry at Beluh and Eagun for offering some contacts in Galar to get him the surgery he desperately needed.
The one person he couldn't ignore was Cook at Outskirt Stand, who gave him a ticket on a boat to Galar and told him he was kicking him out. Faced with no other options, he took the next boat out of Gateon Port.
Wes lived alone in the Wild Area for six months. It gave him time to get over the withdrawal and forcefully detox from all the drugs and alcohol he'd been using, forcing him to get used to breathing in clear air. He still drifted aimlessly without a purpose: he had created a role for himself of protecting the wild Pokemon but he couldn't recognize his own place in the ecosystem.
And then Leon crashed into his life.
No matter how many times Wes lashed out at him, Leon came back. He challenged everything that Wes thought about himself. He's said horrible things to Leon, but Leon always came back. Instead of being angry, he was sad, always asking, "Why would you say that about yourself?"
They were reflections of each other, in a way. As a kid, Leon had people around him trying to steal his no away from him too, but he had Mustard and Honey to help him. Wes had nobody, and by the time he had people willing to help, it was too late.
Leon could see right through Wes. He knew exactly what he was doing. He refused to leave the man he loved, no matter how many times Wes tried to hurt himself by hurting him.
And slowly but surely, Wes would heal.

genshin was meant to be like disco elysium but god woke up confused that day and made it a gacha live service
god if i had the skill i would make one of those fake screenshot fanarts that people do, recreating a scene in the style of disco elysium. but specifically about that Childe lore story about the civilization growing at the base of a tree.

totk really is one of those games that make me go "ok thanks for the characters, setting, and general plot, but ill take it from here <3" because the entire historical timeline had so much potential for interesting and nuanced story telling but they just went with the old zelda story formula and YES thats how theyve always done it but botw was such a reset in terms of gameplay that they couldve overhauled how they handle story in totk. but they didnt
#ramblings#all the races swearing fealty to rauru made me so uncomfortable#like yeahhh ganondorf evil or whatever but also. hey. why is the one leader fighting for the independence of his people. the evil villain#am i just not getting something here am i insane#my first thought when i heard about ganondorf returning was 'wow they could turn him into an actual character' AND THEN THEY DIDNT#its been half a year i feel like the honeymoon period is over. totk was kinda mid. im sorry#it was alright but it just. didnt grab me. at all#botw was interesting because it was new but totk made me yearn for the older zelda formula#though tbh. im always yearning for the older zelda formula. i grew up on oot & twilight princess#you hype up ganondorf so much you make him look like THAT (no im still not over this) and then you just. do what weve always done#this happened in twilight princess. it happened in oot. it happened in ww. hell if you count demise it happened in skyward sword#IT HAPPENE.D IN THE FUCKING HYRULD WARRIORS SPINOFF#'oooh noooo the great evil has returned' WEVE BEEN HERE EVERY TIME. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH POTENTIAL#heres the gerudo having a man born and making him king as is their custom but they spend years in fear that he will be monstrous#here they are after all these iterations of ganondorf afraid to even have kids out of fear that SOMEONE will bring the new great evil#heres a child recently given the throne despite being barely more than a baby always treated with fear by everyone around him#ARE YOU SEEING MY VISION????#the curse is right there. do something with it. oh my god#i KNOW zelda games are just simple heros journeys but pleaseeee i need food#you dont have to make ganondorf nice just. do something with him im so tired of the evil guy caricature#i like guys who are plain evil but i like them more when they have some fucked up motivation beyond taking over the world

Yeah. Man. I'm just sitting here remembering I've been doing this my entire life. I feel like there was a patch I wasn't, part of the teen years, and that's either I've forgotten because trauma orrrr something else but
No wonder I've never felt anchored on this plane. But it doesn't matter, well, no, it matters a lot, but this life is just constantly isolating in how it works so I will keep the talk of not fitting in here and what being weirdly one got in one foot out has done to talking to myself lmfao but... I remember. I remember being in the garden as a really young child and I'm not a young child. I'm this chimaeric fairy-type thing of swirling and bulging colours like a psychedelic faceted-insect-eye's led trip, four or more wings of different types that are again, so ungrounded, so psychedelic, vivid. Not uncertain. Not half-formed. Fully formed, the starbeing in me just barely contained in the shape of the human-pretending-to-be-a-fae it's pretending to be
I remember so much, actually, and it's. it's just weirdly melancholic....? Maybe not melancholic, but it's so sad and I don't know why. Actually. I mean I've been trying to piece it together for like twenty minutes now but... People get a little irritated at me for being very "you don't understand and no one sees me" but like. I have lived an entire life walkinv streets where no one sees me. It's very complicated, there's. mental health stuff in there because of course I've come across a lot of spirits but I have bad issues seeing people as real but like. Man yeah no I am a snail and one part of me can be physically seen but the other has always been on the other side
#There's a lot to this that I just don't want to get into because it's no ones business irt mental health issues influencing#isolation and then trauma and stuff. It's not a matter of ''I was involved in astral stuff and no one else in the world Ever has been''#lmfao like it's just that. Astral self is still me and man. Idk. Realising these past few years constantly the Trauma(tm)#And it makes so many physical events now make sense where like I felt like I could (do astral stuff) and#Man. It's just. There's so much melancholic distance in these astral memories kept behing the Mask Face expression#it really is like. you ever have to leave someone at a bus stop or airport and you're not sure you'll ever see them again#It's this weird heavy and distinct feeling looking at myself like this astral body is a family dog I've just left in#à forest at night and I'm driving away from them and they just know. It's not like Tears Flowing sad it's this. the entire form#just swallows existence. It just is eternally falling away from the world and swallowing it as it goes#It's not a dog left at the roadside its the goddamn ghost of one left years ago. You see it and you aren't sad about leaving your#dog you're like wow. That dogs still here. I don't know what to do. It's image is burned into my retina. It's looking at me#I can see it getting further away in the rear view mirror and no one would ever believe me I'm seeing a ghost so this moment#is etched into my mind now. Except. The memory fades anyway when you look away. It's so like....... It's not even sad#It's just a ghost. I was worried about connecting astral and physical bodies and starting this journey to projection#fully consciously because I knew there'd be a lot of Trauma but this isn't even trauma it's just... My god. I've existed my#entire life as a ghost. like. /ghost/ ghost. Ghost. haunting my own existence. And it's again not just sad it's this weird...#I feel like I've only ever been able to exist off this plane. I exist in this liminal state I exist most freely when unwanted#Not because I need to be unwanted but because what I am freaks people out#Yeah that. vision. that vision of my astral form in this weird obscure unplaceable large animal with a blurred#mask like face in the headlights or tail lights of a car - it's hard to know because it warps reality. I don't know what direction#I'm travelling. I don't know what this thing is. but it's on this forest-flanked road in these lights and it's looking and#there's no one around that can elucdiate the situation and............. Yeah. Man. Yeah.#ramblings //#Astral body //#Astral diary //
